Summary
The Lab Technician plays a vital role in supporting product development and customer satisfaction by preparing powder coating samples that meet specific client requirements. This position is hands-on and involves color matching, operating lab equipment, producing test samples, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

This role is essential to product development and technical support, providing a bridge between customer needs and production capabilities. As part of the Lab team, the Lab Technician contributes to innovation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across TDU and TDC locations.
Responsibilities
- Formulate powder coating samples using NAFTA standard formulations.
- Perform precise color matching using both computer and visual correction techniques.
- Set up and operate lab equipment, including extruders and bonding mixers.
- Carry out extrusion, grinding, and spraying processes for both standard and metallic test samples.
- Clean and disassemble lab equipment between runs following safety procedures (lockout/clean-down).
- Monitor quality and equipment performance during lab runs and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with 7S and safety practices.
- Collaborate with Sales to verify customer requirements when necessary.
- Support ISO 9001 and 14001 systems and participate in LO (Liberating Organism) strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Lab Management.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemistry.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of related job experience in a lab or manufacturing setting.
- Language: Proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
- Methodological Skills: Ability to follow procedures, perform detailed technical work, and troubleshoot basic lab equipment.
- Work Environment: Comfortable with exposure to dust, chemicals, and noise in a lab setting.
